My Soldering Journey Part 1

Part 1 ~ 24th July 2012

The thing I love about jewellery making is that there is so much more to learn. I am 54 years old and I figure I have at least 20 more years of good eye sight, hands that work and a brain that can follow instruction left. That is an awesome amount of time for creativity, new discovery and exploration.

So today is the beginning...Soldering is my new challenge and I was excited to read in Lapidary Journal Dec 2009 Helen Driggs advice to practice making the four basic joins over and over on copper with silver solder, so you can see the results and progression of your work.

I am hoping to report all my discoveries along the way but please forgive me if I vanish for days on end.

I have decided not to edit or pretty up my photos. That way the mistakes/learning process is very obvious.
